Siquijor. A real adventure [and misadventure]. Something for the brave! Original and nature at its finest..plus a few of those horror flicks, & hair-raising encounters with the imaginative mind heheheh.

What's cooking in Indonesia? Interesting place...interesting people. They actually mistook me for a movie celebrity here?! Wooohooo ~ [must have made me smile from ear to ear there hehehe]

Speaking of memories...2002 tour of Malaysia with Forever Friends. This is where I started to be part of this wacky professionals whose friendships withstood the test of time. I am glad to be part of something special such as forever friends.

inspiring words to cap the week

Arthur Ashe, the legendary Wimbledon player was dying of CANCER. From the world over, he received letters from his fans, one of which conveyed: "Why does GOD have to select you for such a bad disease"? To this, Arthur Ashe replied: The world over – 50 million children start playing tennis, 5 million learn to play tennis, 500,000 learn professional tennis, 50,000 come to the circuit, 5,000 reach the grand slam, 50 reach Wimbeldon, 4 to semi finals, 2 to the finals. When I was holding a cup I never asked GOD "Why me?".And today in pain I should not be asking GOD "Why me?"

Happiness keeps you Sweet, Trials keep you Strong, Sorrow keeps you Human,Failure Keeps you Humble, Success keeps you Glowing, But only God Keeps you Going.....
"A winner is not one who never fails, but one who never QUITS!"

Come not so great moments, I'd like to reminisce the good ol' days!

"Never tell a lie if you can bullshit your way thru.." <
Excuse the word....Here's an intellectual attempt to explain the very nature of a bullshitter.
----------
The essence of bullshit, Frankfurt decides, is that it is produced without any concern for the truth. Bullshit needn't be false: “The bullshitter is faking things. But this does not mean that he necessarily gets them wrong.” The bullshitter's fakery consists not in misrepresenting a state of affairs but in concealing his own indifference to the truth of what he says. The liar, by contrast, is concerned with the truth, in a perverse sort of fashion: he wants to lead us away from it. As Frankfurt sees it, the liar and the truthteller are playing on opposite sides of the same game, a game defined by the authority of truth. The bullshitter opts out of this game altogether. Unlike the liar and the truthteller, he is not guided in what he says by his beliefs about the way things are. And that, Frankfurt says, is what makes bullshit so dangerous: it unfits a person for telling the truth.

Miracles happen

Received email from a friend who has cancer. Her vital organs have been cleared. She passed it. She's almost cured! Glory be to God in the highest. What more of a miracle can open my eyes and believe.

He was the first thing I saw. I made him smile on his 30th birthday. Here's another.

I was so awed by the space, the beauty and diversity of Stanford University.

You can just do about anything here (for a college student). Unbelievable. Stanford is a real fusion of culture, taste, aura and just about anything in between.

Oh and don't get so absorbed by the view should you decide to drive through, you might end up getting lost. On second thought, driving around the area is an experience in itself.

Poetry That Is Fall

I love fall for its perfect blend of irony. Just the way this tree portrays. Dried up, not with a single green leaf yet it looks so alive and standing tall and proud. As if telling the world that there is a promise of a good tomorrow only if you bravely embrace the passing of gloomy days of today.

I can't wait to be back in the arms of my home as I welcome this all-new season.

Week-end's High & Low

High
  1. Finally going home on a good Saturday Mountain View weather.
  2. Pre-paid hotel ..whew~ a first.
  3. Great taxi driver. Was so helpful and sincere. The one thing I need when i desperately want to go home.
  4. My first Amex bill. (finally!)
  5. Reserved energy to put all my summer clothes in a storage.
  6. Watched 'What's Eating Gilbert Grape?' (and thoughtfully looking thru my unwatched DVDs..I have a feeling that a phase of my life is just about to pass).
  7. Fabian willing to be my European trip advisor.
  8. Amy's hugs and concerns (oh, what sweet thing)

Low

  1. 30-minute attempt to touch down which made my stomach turn upside-down and made me throw up! God I really hate roller coaster and that's just exactly how it felt.
  2. Insensitive people at the airport. An AA staff who tagged my boarding pass for special security check (what was that all about?!). A Latin girl who had the nerve to ignore the starbucks line and went straight to order. Stewards who kept banging my seat.
  3. Finding out last minute that a huge shopping center is just about 10 minutes walk from my hotel in El Camino. I had to go all the way to Palo Alto and Sunnyvale to shop where I had everything I was looking for in a giff. Oh well.
