Aiko & Hubby At Her Farewell Party

Aiko & Hubby

Aiko's farewell party was undoubtedly the 2005 event of the year in our company. It was huge with 65 attendees, in full reception and it was buffet!

We played her game, the Name Bingo and then another game, all with Harrods as prizes. I got excited that I jumped, and when I landed my left ankle got twisted and now it's sore, I can't even move it. So, no snowboarding for me for the next two weeks. Sad but blessing in disguise actually because I need to focus more on my review and with all stuffs at work. I probably couldn't handle all.

Anyway, the picture shows the usually shy hubby giving her an affectionate kiss. Apart from that, he gave out a speech! They really look like they love each other. I guess that's why they got married~
In a hindsight the farewell party didn't even feel like it's about goodbyes. Everybody had fun.

Unexpected Threesome

Another Version Of A Threesome

We just finished taking an IS group picture when Mr. President went to me and HB and insisted on a threesome picture.

Mr. President was actually drunk already, he was constantly following me! Hahahaha, well that's something flattery but ....not.

I must say though that I'm absolutely too pretty for these two fellows! What'd you think?

Later that night alcohol probably got the better of me and I couldn't help but asked about the gift. He said with confidence that he bought it. I really hope he did. I'm breaking my promise because I just decided to stay for two weeks in Manila over New Year's. But maybe I do really want to find reasons to break it.

Birds of the same feather

We are definitely of the same feather, that's why we obviously flock together!

Look at Miyuki, she's just glowing in love. This Sunday she'll be 33 but she's in love and getting married! You'll sometimes never know what you're gonna get in life ;)

Emi making funny faces as always. Such a fun girl friend to be around. Too bad she had an accident and stopped snowboarding already.

As for me, well..I'm just gonna hang with my own flock of cute, smart, funny and fabulous ladies!

Sisters!

I didn't think Tokie and I could look so like sisters!

I thank God for these girl friends. I thank God for all the nice people I've befriended.

Tokie is one girl who I haven't really been spending so much time together. But we instantly felt close and comfortable like sisters hahaha. She can probably be not be a long-lost evil-step sis, but she surely is one heck of a sistah!

Threesome ~ Kozue, Teddy and Me

Me, Kozue and Teddy..

Kozue won this Teddy in the bingo game (I was too tired to participate), gave it to me coz she noticed that I liked it so much. I held it for the whole of the party.

This Teddy Bear reminds me of the good ol' days where I used to own lots of stuffed toys. My bed used to be filled with these, having collected them as gifts from friends and loved ones.

Holding this Teddy somehow made me felt younger again, hehehehe. Sometimes I wish I took more time to enjoy those days. These days I can only afford my two dolfins.

Good move!

"Good move!" It feels great to be appreciated by your boss. Especially if yours is a 100% critic and perfectionist.
The week's been really busy organizing update meetings, hearings, socializations. On top of that babysitting my Global team members. (Sometimes I'd like to flatter myself with the belief that I'm indeed a good host! Hahahaha). Tough meetings especially because everything's about the biz and politics of course. But the last meeting with our president and our project sponsor, I practiced one of the PMP disciplines I've learned from my distrated (self) review sessions. It did work! Wow~ I was just playing it in my mind, unsure if it was the right thing to do and the last thing I'd want at the moment is commit a booboo in front of my boss and my project sponsor. But it did work! And I got a 'good move!' remarks from Tom, my boss.
Ok, it was about Tom wanting to organize a 1:1 biz plan review sessions with our Sales Managers next year January. From the moment I thought about it, I was playing the possible reactions in my mind already. There was one evident risk I saw ~ rejection. In our meeting with the project sponsor, I informed him about the plan and asked him to endorse it. He said 'yes, I will'. I gained momentum. Then I went on further 'can I ask your senior director to send the meeting invitation and explain what the meeting is all about?' His instant reply was a 'yes, of course', and then he turned to his senior manager and made sure he was paying attention. It was a winner!
I didn't really think PMP works. But we're all bound to change our minds, aren't we?

Snow sports 2006

Snow sports 2006

My snow sports 2006 season officially starts today, November 27, 2005. Rumel, Jeff and I went to Kuruizawa in Nagano prefecture to warm ourselves up for the upcoming snow sports season.

Of course this was also the ceremonial breaking in of my brand new Snowboard. Result?! The bonding experience was fantastic. A couple of bruises, a sore right wrist, aching butt were truly worth it.

Time and again, snowboarding has proven to be the most therapeutic recreation. It didn't matter what my profession is, who I am, my heartaches, my hang ups, all of those temporarily erased as I was focusing on going down the steep slope and moving faster and faster without tumbling down.

I still had so many falls, I still found it difficult to stand up but why do we fall? 'So we can pick ourselves up' , that was the mantra for the day...And by the way, I was not afraid of the lift and the height anymore!

Little by little, I'll get through all of these and I am positive that before the snow season ends, I'll be able to jump as high as those amazing riders.

Til next week for another snowboarding weekend. For now, I need to sink my sore body in a hot and soothing tub! And I should be studying after that!
