In anticipation of the coming week

Don't be disappointed too much for tomorrow is another day...The past week ended in a not so settling way. Had a misunderstanding with my boss. These days when politics really get in the way my professional life can really suck! For a while I was tempted to play the same game but what good will it give me? I'll just end up entangled in a spider web. To cheer me up, I watched Legally Blonde 2. Although I feel it has gone a little over the top I was reminded to speak up and that I have to believe in myself, believe that I can do this world good, and never forgetting that I'm beautiful! I have to admit though that once I get disappointed it takes a while before I snap out of it. I maybe anticipating debris of disappointments for the coming week but I'll do my best anyway. The coming week will be for the following:

  1. Let go of Partner Web
  2. Cookies for HB
  3. Complete AC Update TOI /Update ISS Helpdesk First Contact
  4. Finalize Farewell Karaoke Party For Aiko
  5. Finalize Next next week's agenda.
  6. Draft Project Plan Proposal.
  7. Schedule PMP Exam
  8. Enrol at Univ of Phoenix
  9. Finish reading PM Book
  10. Have lunch with a new acquiantance
  11. Have massage

In the world, you know, they use slang once and a while, and they say, "The world is my oyster." Well, I wouldn't put it that way. But the world is my little problem. "It just seems so big!" Some people say, "The world's a big place!" I never think of it that way - it sits in my hand, there - you could hold a ball.

The lights are supposed to make the evening's walk brighter but somehow the shadow they cast against the calm waters just gives a gloomy mood.

Or is it just me?

I am absolutely crazy about Gap Japan! And that's making it public!

What's up with Shida-san?

This picture was Shida-san's farewell party last year. Tera met her last Monday and she said she wanted to move on to another company and another job 'coz the past year have been so toxic. Well, she needs to work harder for her house mortgage but that's not a good enough excuse to enjoy the little things like hanging around with friends, knitting, blogging, or just reading a good book. The thing with Japanese though is that they tend to be lonely people. They have few friends, unlike back in my country when my phonebook can't hold all my friends' contacts. But sometimes I wish to find a rich, handsome man that I'll marry so I can just walk the dog, have coffee with friends, hang around in spa and bake! Hahha...I know, I know, nobody can imagine how'd survive with that kind of life :)

Farewell Tito Rey

Coffee time at Delifrance in RCBC Plaza. With me are some forever friends Joan, Tito Rey, Sir Mon, Loi and Cynch. Tito Rey will finally migrate to Chicago. We will miss his funny and fatherly ways. Good luck Tito Rey and I hope to see you again one day soon.
Tito Rey was my very first badminton coach. He patiently taught me when everybody else have given up. Tito Rey was always proud of my accelerated badminton skills. And it's always a pleasure to play against him. I miss those Saturday badmintons, KFC lunch, Valle Verde.
But we all have to move on, and now it is time for Tito Rey and his family to seek a new world. It is time for them to test the waters and I'm absolutely sure you'll make it. Living abroad could be sad and lonely sometimes but you'll get the hang of it, trust me!

2005's about to end and memories of yesteryears flashes by my sentimental mind again.

Cheers to 2004 for a new beginning and to 2005 for the unimaginable blessings of life.

Sunday afternoons at Harajuku

Harajuku is truly the musicians haven, the teeners' city, where freedom of expression, fashion and individuality rules. Some people categorizes it as rebellious, liberal, unconventional but I was a teener once and I say its a place where you could possibly find your own identity.

Shibuya is one of the more famous night spots for the younger generation. They say this city never sleeps. Sadly for some, Shibuya is now the preferred 'hang up spot of the salary man as well'. For centuries it has always been Ginza where Geisha shops used to rule. I saw in the TV that these Geisha shops who many consider as part of the Japanese tradition has now been put out of business, and Shibuya is one of the reasons why.

Well I learned that when you go clubbing (at least in UK) you're supposed to be automatically buddies with all the peeps in there. I also learned by the way that these British think that all Asians are Chinese.

This is my buddy Seint. I usually refer to him in some of my posts and here he is, actually, ta-dahh "Seint". We were clubbing in UK when this photo was taken. There was a different side of Seint that I discovered when I spent some time with him in my last vacation. I guess that's how it is with life and friends, you keep on discovering and rediscovering each other and become better friends in the process.

Well, this is Seint...my twisted saint! :)

Girl Friends Night Out!

Girl Friends Night Out!
Originally uploaded by setyr.

5 girl friends went out to celebrate Miyuki's engagement. We picked up the karaoke bar just in front of our office.

Miyuki, Emi and I went ahead and started singing our hearts out at 6.30pm. We had so much fun, talked about Emi's new seductive hairdo, Madonna, being the ultimate go girl! oldies, how winter is fast approaching, well, we practically chatted just about everything, except Miyuki's wedding, heheheh.

At around 9pm, Tomoko and Reiko came and we had more fun...Sorry Reiko you had to be behind the camera to take this wacky picture. Then we started talking about Miyuki's wedding and we sang wedding songs all the way until 11pm. By this time, we 3 ladies have already been influenced by alcohol thanks to the 'drink all you can'promo.

We reminded each other that we are beautiful in our own ways, that we have something in each of us that are unique and that we should be proud to admit that we're beautiful ladies inside and out! :)

Presenting the realization of a dream...

I wished for this 3.5 x 1.6 x 0.27 inches and 1.5 ounces pencil-thin thing who goes by the name iPod Nano! 4G and piano white~ Holds up to 1000 songs and whose battery life lasts until 14 hours. I've been looking for this model for almost a month already. Took me weeks after its release to realize that I want it. By the time I did, it was sold out (apparently from Day 1). And then last week, I heard from a friend that there's a 4G black version being sold at Yodobashi camera. I said, no~ black wouldn't do. And my friend Tera chanced upon the Big Camera online shop and he saw the ad, delivery within 24 hours. It took me no more than a minute to purchase that. I waited and waited and waited last Friday but all I received was a notification that delivery would be within 2-7 days. I couldn't wait anymore. But as they say patience is a virtue. Monday morning I was out of office on a meeting and I was worried that delivery would come and no one would pick it up for me. But I said to myself, 'faith, have faith!' I returned at the office at 3pm and as I was approaching my cube I felt a gush of adrenaline. I wanted it to be there on my cube. I really really wanted to have my iPod Nano. I took time and walked slowly and then there was a box! I just knew it was 'it!'. I opened it excitedly and it was the most white beautiful thing I've seen and touched in a while. There it was ~ my dream fulfilled.

Look at us, we seem to enjoy each other, don't you think so?

From Takashi and Ate, I learned that every baby is really a joy to be around.

Hearing Ate recite her encyclopedia of baby info I realized that it takes a lot of intelligence, research and effort to Motherhood. Not to mention being fit to take care of a baby, carry it in her arms, breastfeed and wake up almost every two hours 24x7! Whew ~ Motherhood is really noble profession.

I hope to be noble too in the not so distant future [ahhemm....~]

Visiting Ate!

It was my first time to Saitama and to see Ate Akiko after she gave birth to Kazu-kun. They picked me up at the Yonohonmachi station and from there we went to the grocery to buy the ingredients which I would be cooking for dinner. Takashi requested Filipino cousine because he said he never tasted any. So I naturally heed (cooking is one of the passion I recently dug up from my teen-age years). I cooked Adobo, Sinagang and Yangchao rice. They were all good (according to Takashi). I was very happy!
I played with Kazu-kun for a couple of hours and now I feel so tired. Taking care of a baby is certainly a joy but I realize you also have to be physically able to. Kazu-kun is a cute 4 month old, 7 kilos baby. I brought him a pair of bootie and bonnet as a present from Ireland. I was a little nervous it might not fit, but it did!
Takashi and Ate talked about lots of things. Naturally not being able to really spend time chatting for a while, we had a lot of catch ups to do. Takashi and I had a couple of beers, and Japanese whiskey (Ate was our audience, she's breastfeeding so alcohol is a major No-No!). Went home at around 9.30pm and reached my own home shortly before 11pm.
Indeed a tiring yet enjoyable weekend it was.

Break from Saturday routine ~ a spa experience

I threw away the usual Saturday housekeeping routine to pamper myself. Went to Takashimaya's 12th floor beauty avenue and got my first full-blown Japanese esute~ (spa). The staff were very friendly. As usual I had to fill up a set of questionnaires and had to undergo counselling. They all expected that I could speak, understand and read Japanese. Whew ~ Tough world! Anyway, the jacuzzi and the sauna was so relaxing, I wanted to soak there for hours. The relaxation room was so soothing. I was looking at Shinjuku's night skyline. In front of me was the Do-Co-Mo tower clock, I could see the Tokyo Tower from afar and Tokyo lights were sparkling. As I looked down, I saw Christmas illumination. The Yuletide spirit's really been around the corner. I figured. I felt so relaxed as I closed my eyes and listened to the calming background music being played.

I'd categorize the massage as good. [My standard's really been high when we talk about massage]. It was enough to calm my tired muscles. Although I could tell that she was having a hard time because almost everything in my body is stiff. Tsk tsk. I've really had too much stress, she could easily tell. A the end of an hour's session she advised me to rest more and de-stress a little bit.

All in all the experience was nice. It really helped me UP my shoulders a little bit. In fact, they were able to convince me to do a 6x trial plan. Anybody interested to try can go and dash at Takashimaya Shinjuku Branch (if you go this Christmas season, you'll be treated with superb Christmas illuminations!), 12/f Beauty Avenue, Socie Beauty Express. I went to Guerlain Paris. Here's the URL (japanese).
