2006 IS-JP New Year Party
2006 IS-JP New Year Party. Our boss killing Master~ Hahahaha. It was a lot of drinking and fun with Vincent gracing us from US BU. This was a chance to socialize with the new BPAs, my new babies, both are joining my team. Of course this also offers chance to keep in touch with old buddies. The CRM project has kept me away from BP.
New interesting personality to look forward to, Cutie-chan, our latest TechArch who likes cars, plays the piano and his fave color seems to be pink.

Evaluation Time
This is one of the most frustrating part of the year, ~ PRFs. I've done my best. Did all what they asked me to do, even though all were in excess. I held my ground. I had good relations with stakeholders and ISS and with everyone. But apparently I did not do enough.
I'll take the criticisms graceously and will try to improve more this year but I can't help but feel that it's unfair. I gave my heart and my life and dedicated all of my 2005 for this team and all I get is an unsatisfactory rating.
This is a perfect example of what I read in my PMP Reviewer ~ that communication problem is always passed down to the inferior. It is never the boss' problem. As PMP, I just have to find my way around it...So I guess that'll just what I do.
Thankful with tips from my Manager though, that our director's personality is that when he says something, it would be best to say 'I understand. I'll think about it.' At least I have some facts at my disposal.
Anyway, this year, I'd be loyal to the G1G3 project and nothing and no one can bring me down. I'm guess I've gone wise enough not to fall for that.
Cheers!
Everybody's fine and well!!!!
3 Kanpai for the hardworking and hard-drinking people, hahaha
O----su!!! Sakurai-san's new cool term for cheers!
He told me that our boss included his English conversation practice with me in his PDP, hahahaha! Ganbare~~~

Lunch time. Recharge time!
Snowboarding is not all about snow.
We also eat a lot, especially after a couple of hours of hard riding without breaks!
So here we are, Adgie and I gamely posing over lunch at the New York Cafe in Prince Hotel in Naeba.

Just enjoying the snow
Snow sport can be really dead tiring. Especially with snowboarding you have to unbind your foot as you ride the lift and bind it again as you descend the slope.
So here we are, Adgie and me (c/o Litos camera), resting and trying to figure out how to go down the steep slope in front of us. A little scary but we managed. My knees hurt after 2 tries because I was braking all the time, hahahhaa, Emzi was a little bit afraid.
Next time I'll really push my way down and make my toes and heels do all the work.

Chit chats and Pep talks
Here is Emzi's bragging moments. (I don't actually remember what I was talking about. )
Agdie looks like he was enjoying every minute of the chat. See how the little things in life can be perfect kodak moments?

Time out
Snowboarding is also time to enjoy the snow, to enjoy the cool breeze that touches your face and turns it to a natural blush and a time for friends to just lie down, face the shining shine and say, 'life is great, indeed!'.
Proud Snowboarder!
I am now a proud boarder!
I have gone up to 699 meters high and off to the intermediate course :)
Was able to kick some ass last weekend. I was able to do the usual zigzags, no more stumbling down, did a little of the front brakes. And now I am ready to fly!~

Getting ready for the lift
Getting warmed up for a fun filled snowboarding day.
I just love the snow quality at Mt. Naeba in Niigata prefecture.
I've also definitely got the hang of my new board. I can ride her with ease and as they say, 'gamay na'.
Also had a few accidents today, just one collision with another lady rider. It was inevitable, we were both caught at each other's path one second too late. I didn't want to hurt her so I turned my board as far away from her.
The penalty? I stumbled over, rotated my injured ankle, I actually grimaced with pain and my goggles and bonnet flew up in the air.
I take all these as part of the sport, so I'm fine and ready to ride again!

2006 Mt. Naeba Snowboarding
Nothing can beat a snowboarding weekend a Prince Hotel in Mt. Naeba. Great powdery snow, accessible amenities, varied snowboarding routes and friendly crew makes it all so perfect for a weekend getaway.
It was a good riding day for me as the sun was shining, the wind was not strong and I finally mastered a few of the basics.
I am definitely ready for the next level. Which is? To let go and not to use the brakes all the time. It is time to learn a few exhibitions hahahaha!

Food For Thoughts
How time flies fast. January is almost over! Whew~ I barely had time to settle down and say hello to 2006 but here I am busy busy busy as a bee. Geez, the modern world is just spinning fast. Ironically, I learned from NHK news that our Mother Earth has slowed down its rotation around the sun again these past years. This year though, Japan made a 1 second adjustment to it's official clock to align with the international time. The last time it has been adjusted was 7 years ago.
Speaking of time, here are practical tips on how to stay forever young. I consider these reminders, I hope you do too!
- Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay them.
- Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. (keep this In mind if you are one of those grouches;)
- Keep learning: Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain get idle. "An idle mind is the devil's workshop." And the devil's name is Alzheimer's!
- Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. And if you have a friend who makes you laugh, spend lots and Lots of time with HIM/HER.
- The tears happen: Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person who is with us our entire life, is our self. LIVE while you are alive.
- Surround yourself with what you love: Whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge.
- Cherish your health: If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help.
- Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county, to a foreign country, but NOT to where the guilt is.
- Tell the people you love that you love them, at every opportunity.
The Week's Highlights
- At Work. Definitely the hectic CRM worshop.
- At Play. Mt. Naeba weekend snowboarding with Agdie and Lito.
Thanks for visiting!
