Autumn and goodbye
The leaves have gone from red to brown. In a couple more weeks, all the leaves will fall just as they should be and winter officially comes. There is this unpaintable sadness in the transition. But the lessons of autumn are all clear to me. Gloom, yield, rest the night through.

Emzi grimacing (or giggling???)
Maybe I'm just not used to whiskeys and I don't like Japanese sake. There was a ceremony wherein we were all supposed to drink from this huge sake bowl (the red bowl I was holding). I excused myself and went to the powder room but unfortunately when I returned they forced me into it. It didn't taste that bad but the photo op (thanks to Tarun from Itochu) was really fun. Everybody was laughing at me.
Dinner after the training at Motivation Teahouse
I'm with some of the training attendees. Always nice to be the only rose :) After a fun-filled yet gruelling 9.5 seminar hours, we finally got the chance to relax and chat and discuss our line of work, which industry we belong to, and so on.
They were motivating Koji, the guy beside me in blue long sleeve, to actually make 'friends' with me. Well probably a couple of beers did the trick. As you can see he was sitting right next to me where he was originally sitting right next to Yong (right-most).
I wouldn't want to dampen the high spirits and fun of these accomplished fellows so I just played with it. Koji was nice enough to accompany me until I reach my subway line. He's a manager of a Sales Department of Softbank (he was a bit tentative to admit that Softbank uses Semantec!) . Who knows maybe one day I'll be able to receive complimentary baseball tickets hehehhee.
Pan Industry Training 2005
This unscheduled training with no expectations turned out to be super fun and very informative at the same time.
Met different people from different industry, different personalities and chatted with each of them. Here's our photo. Too bad some of the attendees were too tired to join the dinner party.
Of all the things I've learned in this lesson I picked out several points to bring in to my day job as PM.
- One of the pitfalls of a good PM is being 100% end-goal focused, oftentimes failing to read the signs of time. How the market is doing, how the times and business constraints are changing are very important inputs to strategize.
- Pure labor, 100% effort is good but through effective planning, risk management and strategic action (mostly brought about by #1) what seems to be impossible can be possible, what seems to be unsurmountable can be threshed out without sacrificing one's health.
- Burn out often comes when we always do, when we try to do more and when we don't stop and re-assess where we are and where we should be.
- Teamwork involves not just cooperation but a mutual understanding and commitment to a goal.
- Communication is not just words, but actions, body language, thoughts said and unsaid.

Habit I Picked
I'm a once a week customer of the Flower Shop. It has become a habit to drop by this flower shop and pick up my flower of the week.
Flowers are inexpensive stress relievers and this week I bought the friendliest flowers ~ white daisies. The shop started to blow up a baloon Santa and put in front of the shop. Christmas is really here to come. There's no stopping.

I've done a little reformatting. The first of the Heart Series, Heart Talk was an open diary, an attempt to let the world know about the other side of me. It was a personal project which took years of courage to muster. But even the best things last. Yesterday was the finale of my Heart Talk. It was a special ending. An emotional closure.
But today I give birth to a new beginning, a new perspective of life. The second of the Heart Series will be about 'you'. Yes, it's not about my heart anymore, but yours. I want to echo the goodness of your heart. I still believe that the world is a good place to live in, and that its people still have a good heart and I believe that it could be a better world, if I could pass on to others the goodness I see in all of you. Join me, let's have a cup of tea!
Gearing up for the weekend's ride!
Shaider's Backview
I know it's too corny to call my board Shaider but it'll be cool!
The back is a twist instead of dominant red, it's mainly black and white. Did I just mention about my recent passion for everything that's white????
Shaider's so neat! Hahaha, I really can't wait to ride him. Although Jeff said that Mel wanted to go on Sunday because he's expecting a package on Saturday, I guess that'll do the trick for me because I can work on Saturday and just drop everything on Sunday and ride :)
Ta-dahh!!! My newest baby, my new boyfriend, my darling!
Here's my newest baby, my 2006 Skyla JJ flex freestyle board. Isn't he soooo be-----autiful?!!!
I can't wait to ride. I was planning to go to Niigata this Wednesday for break-in, but geez, an unscheduled training came along the way...
But I promise my new baby which I'd call...hmm...what's a good name??? Aha, Shaider!! hahahaha!!! Yup, I'll be Annie and my board's gonna be :) Where were I?? Yeah, I promised Shaider, I'm gonna break him in this weekend and nothing can ever stop me! Not even rain .....ooppps, except rain, nothing would ever.

いよいよ! Getting Ready for Snowboard 2006
My very first Skyla 2006 JJ freestyle snowboard! Yeah, an hour ago, I finally owned one, complete with white binding and earth brown snowboard boots. Warming up for the upcoming winter snowboard season ~
Miyazaki Sports staff was trying to figure out how to put the lock against the binding. The whole shopping took me about 4 hours! Yes, just for the whole snowboard stuff. I had to figure out the right boots and board. Then I had to wait for them to fix the binding (that white shoe-like thingie) and then finally the wax. I can't wait to break-in my ALL NEW SKYLA JJ 2006 RED&WHITE FREESTYLE SNOWBOARD!
いよいよ! Winter 2006, here I go!
Thanks for visiting!
