We had so much fun from snowboarding, from tubing and from all the other recreational rides for kids at Nakazato.

2006 Happy Moments At Nakazato Ski Resort
I was late. But HB insisted to wait for me at Echigo Yuzawa. I didn't want them to wait for me so I insist they just go ahead. He said, that was a group decision. Later the night, I learned that it was he who made the decision and they were basically made to obey. Yuriko also said that he was constantly watching behind my back...Upon learning thatI felt happy that he worries about me..
It was snowing heavily.
HB taught me how to snowboard.
We both planned a surprise party for Yuriko.
It was generally a good day.

View From The Top
Isn't this a site to behold?
This view would probably top my list of best winter scenery I've been by far.
It's sad though that the memories that go with this picture is not as grand.
The man who broke my heart consistently does what he does best ~ break it time and again.

Happniness Floats At Smokey Mountain
My tears wouldn't stop falling down as I watched a TV documentary on Smokey Mountain.
People living in Smokey Mountain didn't have so much complaints in life.
They don't question why they need to dig in to the garbage to find food.
The children work day in and out, never bitter that they cannot go to school because of poverty.
The most important thing for all is family. Food to bring to their tables every day. Money to give to the mother so she can use and manage a dilapidated huts. It is all about family.
They don't have much. But they had music in their lives. There was a small karaoke in the middle of Smokey Mountain. They would gather and enjoy music in between breaks.
They go to church. They have faith. When the host asked that children, they had dreams when they grow up, a couple wanted to become teachers so they can help children and teach them how to read and write, there was someone who wanted to be a nurse and another one who wanted to become a singer.
I never heard anything about complaints. There was no complaints, no bitterness, they don't even blame the government about their conditions. Instead they take in each day with zest.
I envy them.
On the other hand I feel bad for most of us Filipinos. There's so much poverty in the Philippines and yet there's so much chaos in the government. People trying to snatch power, our politicians are never ashame to cause trouble. Last Friday were news of another take over. When will these ever end? It's a shame. Especially since there is also an ongoing crisis going on in Leyte. Why have most of our fellow countrymen became so selfish and greedy? It's a shame....

Little Children Learn How To Ski
This is the time of the year when fathers start to teach their children how to ski.
All the little kids in Yuzawa Park were so cute with the ski and snowboard wear and all.
Someday I would also bring my little kid and teach him to ride the snowboard and together we will all enjoy winter as a one happy, snowboarding family. Now this is day dreaming ~

Yuzawa Resort Park
This weekend was Yuzawa Resort Park snowboarding. Temperature was really high and it was too hot, I actually had sun burn. The snow was turning into ice and so every fall would really hurt.
I had one really bad fall on my knees when I was practicing back turn. It took me a couple of minutes before I was able to get up on my feet. I was really grimacing in pain even though I had knee pads, it was a really nasty fall.
I had my iPod Nano and was listening to it all the time. It was a crowded day and apart from the bad fall, I began feeling tired, I recognized that my body was just not well enough today so I took my time. There comes a time in life that you just have to surrender to fatigue, and this was one of those times. I think I ate a lot more than I rode today.
But around 4pm, I started feeling OK and I didn't want the day to end. I really love snowboarding. I'm not good at it but I love it just the same. Without my weekend snowboarding it would have been difficult to face my dailies of late.

Kazu-kun growing so fast!
The last time I saw Kazu-kun was in November and he was still so tiny. Look at him now! Growing up so fast and looking more and more like his father Takashi. I hate to say it Ate but he indeed looks like Takashi hehehe.
I hope to see you cute little boy in a couple of months! Your Ate Emzi is still too busy snowboarding on weekends. Ate Akiko says I better hurry and visit Kazu-kun because he's really growing so fast!
