Good move!

"Good move!" It feels great to be appreciated by your boss. Especially if yours is a 100% critic and perfectionist.
The week's been really busy organizing update meetings, hearings, socializations. On top of that babysitting my Global team members. (Sometimes I'd like to flatter myself with the belief that I'm indeed a good host! Hahahaha). Tough meetings especially because everything's about the biz and politics of course. But the last meeting with our president and our project sponsor, I practiced one of the PMP disciplines I've learned from my distrated (self) review sessions. It did work! Wow~ I was just playing it in my mind, unsure if it was the right thing to do and the last thing I'd want at the moment is commit a booboo in front of my boss and my project sponsor. But it did work! And I got a 'good move!' remarks from Tom, my boss.
Ok, it was about Tom wanting to organize a 1:1 biz plan review sessions with our Sales Managers next year January. From the moment I thought about it, I was playing the possible reactions in my mind already. There was one evident risk I saw ~ rejection. In our meeting with the project sponsor, I informed him about the plan and asked him to endorse it. He said 'yes, I will'. I gained momentum. Then I went on further 'can I ask your senior director to send the meeting invitation and explain what the meeting is all about?' His instant reply was a 'yes, of course', and then he turned to his senior manager and made sure he was paying attention. It was a winner!
I didn't really think PMP works. But we're all bound to change our minds, aren't we?
