What's up with me?
Busy is an understatement in my life of late. Shuffling work and master's education is definitely not an easy feat to do. I've surprised myself by finishing my class, Foundations Of Problem-Based Learning, in flying colors last Tuesday. The past 6 weeks was so tough and my greatest learning was time discipline. I didn't want to compromise my winter sports and job responsibilities but I also wanted to really learn from this class. 1 Down, 11 more to go!
I then plunged into the next class, Forces Influencing Business In The 21st Century. This class will be more challenging as it focuses on Micro and Macro Eco, subject areas I'm not good at. The blessing though is it coincides with Golden Week (1 week Japanese holiday). I can do advance readings and assignments.
At work, there was a recent reorganization and with that my report line and role have changed. I'm now closer to the business, which is a good thing as it offers new opportunities to learn and grow. I also like organizing so when I'm given this messy situation to define and implement new processes and guidelines I couldn't be happier.
I've also been busy with touring my friends and showing them the good places in Tokyo. The past two weeks I've played host to visiting friends and officemates on biz trips here in our JP BU.
My home is suffering the most as I couldn't find time to really do housekeeping. I'll definitely put this one in my list this week, which reminds me that I also need to pay my bills this weekend.
I also need to bring my snowboard to maintenance, which I will also need to do this week before I put it in storage. Later today I plan to go and have a relaxing massage and facial. I know I deserve it!
There have been no time for movies and DVDs this year, but I guess I can save them for lonelier days. Although I'm so tempted to buy Ice Age 2. May is also Da Vinci Code month and I plan go watch that in theatre with friends.
Speaking of friends, I need to organize three things:
- Kozue's farewell party. She'll be taking her Master's in the US starting this Sept. I need to plan her farewell party and I also need to plan my schedule so I can go with her in Sri Lanka.
- Barbecue Party for Yuriko's birthday. This is supposed to happen at my home and I need to re-arrange my house first so they'd all fit!
- Take Lanye and Agdie to Nakano for shopping and have movie marathon at my place.
Spring has brought new life, new energy, new things to pursue and new work for me. I can't say my life is perfect but I think I'm getting there.
Thanks for visiting!
