Snowboarding Dancing At Iwa Ppara Ski Resort
February 20, 2006
Jetlag from 12 hours of flight time,
I conquered it all...for the love of snowboarding!
Forecast was rain but I've reserved the bullet train ticket before I left for SFO so there was no turning back.
Snowboarding under the rain was another unique experience. On top were huge packets of snow falling down, as you descend they melt and turn to rain.
It was drizzling yesterday and the snow becomes so slippery, it felt as if I was in a skating rink. Frustrating at the start because I could barely manage to do the back brake and practice the more advanced riding techniques.
I was getting frustrated and the rain started to drip in my gloves. My hands were getting numb. I began to wonder, why am I doing this crazy thing?
Then I heard a voice inside my head, 'snowboarding is supposed to be fun, you're not competing or aiming for an Olympic medal!'
Indeed. I threw everything aside and started to dance under the rain as I snowboard my way through, dancing as though no one was watching. I dropped all my shoulders burden from pressures at work to my personal endeavors away sa I enjoyed the rain drops falling in my ski wear. It didn't help much with my snowboarding technique improvement but it was all I needed to do to make a difference in everything else that matter.
Thanks for visiting!
